Monday reflections: quiet waters.

Lost at sea, with no land in sight,
it’s different from what you think it might be like.

With nothing but water surrounding you,
it can be hard to find a clue.

A clue to find the vast land and feel solid ground beneath your feet,
to have a sense of stability instead of endless water underneath.

Whether you’re a sailor, travelling from A to B,
or someone simply exploring the mysteries of the sea.

Water is what allows us to travel freely around the world, from continent to continent, and towards places we have yet to see.

The oceans, the rivers, the lakes and the seas.
They run through our vast lands, asking nothing in return.

And when you need some private time, some space to wander off, places near the water can help you channel your thoughts.

The silence, accompanied only by the soft sound of water brushing against the walls. A ship passing in the distance, leaving waves behind that slowly find their way towards the shore.

Nothing spectacular.

Nothing that demands your attention.

Just water being water.

Perhaps that is exactly what makes those moments so special.

Because sometimes, sitting beside the water gives us something we spend far too much time looking for elsewhere. A moment where nothing needs to happen. Where nobody expects an answer. Where your thoughts are allowed to come and go at their own pace.

Those simple moments near the water are all that some people need.

A quiet moment.
The gentle movement of the water.
And the sound of almost nothing in between.
