Once there was a man walking along the shore while the sun slipped quietly into the sea.
His thoughts wandered far away as he moved at a slow, absent-minded pace.
After a while, he sat down and stared ahead with empty eyes.
As he recalled the events of the past weeks, the face of his late father appeared in his mind —
shimmering above the water as if made of light.
A tear rolled down his cheek as the father smiled at him.
Softly he asked,
“Father… I’ve worked so hard to come this far.
Why do I still feel an empty space inside my heart?”
His father’s face brightened and spoke gently into his thoughts:
“My son, that emptiness will disappear the moment you follow your heart.
Not by working yourself to exhaustion, not by filling your pockets with gold —
but by living your life the way you are meant to.
Doing the things that make your soul breathe.
If you can do that, you will become one of the luckiest men alive.”
Then the smile faded and the vision dissolved with the last glow of daylight.
The man blinked away his tears, stood up, and whispered:
“It’s time to leave my old habits behind.
It’s time to live my life — my way.”
With renewed strength, he turned toward the path ahead.
Behind him, the final edge of sunlight slipped beneath the horizon,
and the road before him shone just a little brighter.
