A village under the stars chapter eight: New Horizons
Almost a year ago, there was nothing here in this place. Just the wide open spaces, the fabulous mountains, and the breathtaking scenery of the landscape slowly fading away in the ocean. And now there’s an entire village full of amazing species that come together and make each other’s lives even more beautiful.
Seeing as this village started from nothing to what it became today, made Zandr feel good.
He did something incredible for all the others who visited Etely Mountain for a short time so they could take some rest.
The feeling of being helpful to all the others made Zandr feel even more special.
While overlooking the bay, seeing every piece of land that he had created, Zandr gained a warm feeling. A feeling of doing the exact thing he knew he was made for; creating a wonderful place under the stars where others are capable of living their perfect lives.
All of a sudden, Zandr woke up from his daydream. He stood up and went towards the village square. There he met up with someone who he didn’t know was here at this exact moment.
An old friend called: River. The one he had seen once again a couple of weeks ago. They both had a great evening together while sharing memories. Sure, they both mourned that same evening over another friend who had passed away recently, but they also got the chance to look back in time. Back to the days when they became friends before they even understood what that word meant.
Seeing River walking around town now, made a smile appear on Zandr’s face.
He ran up to him and they greeted each other by giving an intense hug.
“I didn’t know you were here! That’s an awesome surprise!” Zandr said when they let each other go. “Well, this amazing place you’ve created right here happened to have stolen my heart. “ River replied. Zandr gained a smile on his face upon hearing those words. “Thanks, man. Looking back at it now, it gives me an amazing feeling,” He replied. He felt a lump in his throat coming up and swallowed it with much pressure. At the same time, he also felt a tear rolling down his cheek, but didn’t wipe him away. This one was from pride.
“You know, doing all this made me realize that that’s the thing I needed to do in my life. That’s why I also decided to go travel again and go try to make others feel the same way as they all doing here.” Zandr said.
River looked at him with his mouth opened up a bit.
“Meaning…?” He asked calmly, but in his thoughts, he already knew what the answer was going to be.
“It’s time for me to go traveling the universes again. Go to places that look stunning, and make them even more beautiful.” Zandr replied and at the same time, he looked up at the sky. River followed his gaze. For a moment they stood frozen aside each other, then River said: “If you need someone who wants to guard this place, I’ll be more than happy to settle here.”
Zandr looked at him. At the same moment also River turned his head towards Zandr. “You’re serious about that?” Zandr asked. “I’m dead serious,” River replied.
Once again, Zandr felt a tear rolling down his cheek. This time he wiped it away and said: “You’ll be forever in my heart.” “Same as you will be in mine,” River said. They gave each other one last hug, then Zandr turned around to get towards his ship. Before he got in, he turned around and said: “This is not goodbye my friend. We’ll see each other again.” He then got into his ship, started the engine, and flew into space. Just before he left the atmosphere, River said softly: “It’s never goodbye, ’cause you’ll be right here in this place after all. In Etely Mountain, your village under the stars.
