Wax Mecanix brings a new video for his single; Head.
Waxim “Wax” Ulysses Mekanix is an American musician, songwriter, performer, producer, and founding member of NWOBHM cult rockers Nitro.
Wax’s perspective and work can best be described as raw, authentic, bold, uncompromising, and disconcerting.
Never one to remain creatively static, and close on the heels of his critically acclaimed prescient debut album MOBOCRACY, Wax Mekanix and Electric Talon Records offer three new well-timed songs that illustrate a striking sonic and thematic evolution for this American rock artist.
As if to invite them to follow his lead onward into the bountiful undiscovered musical territory, Wax’s diverse, open-minded, brave, and adventurous audience is presented with HEAD, MANCHESTER STRAWBERRY BLONDE, and FREAK BOUTIQUE. Tribal, exotic, mysterious, fearless, contemporaneous connective tissue between what has come before and whatever Wax sees on his creative horizon.
“If you’re expecting MOBOCRACY version 2.0, or me to pander for streams, followers, eyeballs, or likes by calculating some kind of mind-numbing, mouth-breathing sameness, I ain’t your guy. If you’re hankering for some groovy and glorious nourishment for your gnoggin and hips, drop these three funky nuggets into your ears. Then come see me and my courageous crew for more mind-expanding escapades. We aren’t even firing on all cylinders yet.”-Wax
His new video; Head, is an upbeat song with country influences, but it’s much more complex than that. It’s not just a country song, because it has a modern style with a few country instruments completing the puzzle.
The song is a perfect coach that tells you that you are the master of your own mind. Some might have dirty thoughts while others would be feeling the need to smash things apart. The song, however, does not tell you to do so. It’s just about what you make of it.
Split EP Blunt, with Trollteeth.

What happens when two Electric Talon artists sit in the same room together? Blunt happens.
Wax Mekanix and Troll Teeth, coming off of their respective 2020 releases entitled Mobocracy and Goes Nowhere, Does Nothing, have teamed up to release one of the most diverse splits of 2021. What happens when you mix acoustic-rooted psychedelia and hard-nosed stoner rock? Well, you’ll soon find out. Upon Wax Mekanix reaching out to fellow label brethren Troll Teeth, both artists set out on a mission to challenge themselves artistically; taking the lull in live music to hone their craft and deliver their fans with something new yet familiar. “We at Troll Teeth used this EP to experiment a little with songwriting and performing,” says Troll Teeth frontman Moe Eccles “We tried to get out of our comfort zone a little more than we normally do.” Wax Mekanix follows this up by stating “If you’re expecting Mobocracy version 2.0, or me to pander for streams, followers, eyeballs, or likes by calculating some kind of mind-numbing, mouth-breathing sameness, I ain’t your guy.”
From the almost tribal backbeats of “Freak Boutique” and “Head” to the hard-nosed-in-your-face fuzz of ”Barbs on the Wire”, Blunt will leave your ears feeling satisfied and itching for more from each of these artists. Blunt will be available on October 22nd, 2021 on all major digital platforms courtesy of Electric Talon Records
