You’ll be in my heart by Phil Collins.

From the animated Disney picture: Tarzan.

It is one of the most iconic songs that everyone, who grew up with Disney classics, will instantly remember. It is also a beautiful song with the perfect layout in terms of music, text, story, and… well yeah, let’s say that it’s just a great song.

Artist Phil Collins wrote tons of songs that are still notable today, but the one that created a safe spot in many people’s hearts will definitely be this one.

It’s also the title song of a Disney animated movie that has a story so deep and true that the song itself embodies perfectly. Everything written down in the lyrics is a great written-down-short story of the entire Tarzan movie.

Back in those days movies were still only available in theaters and on VHS. People were going crazy to visit the nearby theater or rent a movie from the video store. If you were lucky enough, you had the chance to rent your favorite movies back there, but if fate had turned against you, you had to be happy with something else because the person who stood in line right before was the lucky one to take your favorite with him right before your nose.

Okay, now back to the real essence of this post: You’ll Be in My Heart, and I think I can speak for many people who are now between the ages of thirty and forty, is one of the iconic songs that Disney brought to life in an animated movie.

The song and its lyrics have a unique way of speaking to its listeners. Rather you have recently lost a loved one or fell in love with that one person who becomes your soulmate. This song is the ultimate way of speaking out your exact feelings at that moment and that’s why the song itself is an icon in the musical world.

Singer, songwriter, musician, actor, producer,… You name it and Phil will perform it. Oddly enough, Philip David Charles “Phil” Collins never got knighted by the royal family of England. However, He did receive the title of Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO). A reminder of what the man who started his career as a child actor, but mostly became famous when he debuted as drummer for rock band Genesis, was, and till this day still is, most known for; his talent and skills.

Those are the things that he will always be remembered for, and that’s why many people will forever say to him: You’ll be in my heart.
