Love for Egyptian culture and history.

Who is your favorite historical figure?

Love for Egyptian culture and history.

In terms of a favorite historical figure, saying that that is Tutankhamun would be an understatement. I have a huge interest in the history of Egypt and its former rulers. There’s something about the country that makes me feel like coming home whenever I get there and that makes my interest in their rich history even stronger.

So king Tut is one of those rulers who I have been studying and reading about for a very long time already. He was the first one that enlightened the interest in the country, the culture and the people of this beautiful country.

Naturally, of course, I also have visited his grave in valley of the kings, but what I did not expect on that day is that I was going to be more impressed by valley of the queens. Visiting the tomb of Nefertiti felt as I really did came home and it still left such a deep impression on me that I can’t explain. Have I perhaps been an Egyptian in a past life? Have I been one of the slaves building the tomb or even one of the luckier ones that dealt in the riches? It’s a bit unexplainable.

Visiting other sites and historical places in Egypt left again a deep impact on me. It feels like it’s my second home. The place I can come back again and again and never get tired of being there. It feels a bit like a home under the stars.

Therefore every important historical person in the history of Egypt has caught my attention and interest.

Egypt, the country of origin.
