In Loving Memory chapter seven: Coolio.

It’s a sad day in the history of music when a true artist passes away. Coolio was one of those artists. He inspired many people with his music and will continue inspiring people with the songs he has created during his rich career.

Coolio was born: Artis Leon Ivey Jr., on August 1, 1963, in Monessen, Pennsylvania. He started his music career in 1987 with the recording of his first single: Watcha gonna do, the rest is well-known history.

Through the years, Coolio continued his career as a musician and recorded eight studio albums, but besides making music he’d also done many other jobs. After he finished college, he first did jobs as a volunteer firefighter and security at airports, before he became a musician. The job he always wanted to do.

With Coolio gone, we had to say goodbye to another legacy in our musical history. He will be missed forever, but we do have the luck to still be able to listen to the imperium he left for us. Music that someday will inspire others to write music, as he did. That’s what a true artist will always do for their fans, their friends, and everyone they love. One day, someone else will make him proud of what he left behind.

The passing away of Coolio reminds me that life is but a short time. It’s once again a scream that yells: Live your life the way you want to live it. It might be over sooner than you think, so it would be a waste of time if you’re doing nothing your heart desires.
