Album Review: Hypnopompia, By Destroy Humanity. Album Out Now!

Artwork: Destroy Humanity – Hypnopompia

Destroy Humanity is a three-headed metal-collective. Heavily influenced by bands like Lamb of God, Machine Head, Pantera,… they bring their own take on the Groove Metal genre.

After seeing the trio perform live last weekend, obviously covid proof through a live stream session, I immediately fell in love with the band’s music and their act of performing live in an online session.

A glimpse of this performance can be found on the band’s facebook page.

This live performance was set-up by the band and their promotors, as a album release show. During this show, Destroy Humanity played songs from the new album, called: Hypnopompia. This album is available now!

Hypnopompia starts off with a great guitar-riff, and the drums soon underline those riffs.

When the vocals kick in, the album opens up completely. The vocals then also are a great mix of screams and grunts, but they also have a unique and cleaner influence attached to it, and thanks to the music that supports these vocals, it is a brilliant opener to a somewhat heavier album. Keep in mind tho, the album has many influences. Something for every fan of the metal genres.

Every song tells it’s own unique story, and combined, they bring a perfect mix of screams, cleans, drums that cover the entire metal genre and guitar-riffs that are catchy as hell, so that listeners won’t forget this album very soon.

Besides of only bringing you heavy music designed to keep you headbanging around the clock, the album also includes pieces of music that are created so carefully, that it spontaneously can give it’s listeners shivers, and bring them in other, maybe even higher atmospheres. Just so created, that they have the possibility to bring you back on planet earth a couple of seconds later, and let you start headbanging again.

Throughout the entire album the perfect balanced music keeps going on. That makes sure that listeners keep listening and that part is something that the guys from Destroy Humanity mastered perfectly. It also makes sure you’ll keep listening to the album until the very end.

The ending is a really great part of the album. It gives every musician in the band the chance to let themselves hear for a moment. Combined together they then also bring the perfect end to an album.
