Recipe for Flemish traditional bird’s nests
As a Belgian there’s one thing we’re proud of being our traditional food. That of course are our traditional Belgian fries. We have our chocolates that are standardly competing with the Swiss’s chocolates, and our beers that are also competing at the top of the international rankings.
Growing up in Belgium we had a standard of at least once a week fries for dinner, and when that was combined with the edible birds nests the feast was served.
Needless to say that we are a bit spoiled with our traditions probably, and we are proud of them too. As a nation we usually stay low under the radar but when it comes to our prides and glories, we stand strong to protect them. After all, that’s what true Belgians are doing best.
